Spoon carving is a culture. It has become a way I relax and use the pieces of wood around me.

Spoon carving never ceases to amaze me as the shape of the spoon reveals the beauty of the wood. Also through social media there is a great spoon carving community and I have been inspired by the influencers like Barn the Spoon and Rachel Bainton.

Like all woodworkers, if you are not trying to make a living, the pieces pile up and you wonder what to do with them. Friends and relatives soon get their fill of wooden spoons and bowls. This website is the answer – offer them for sale and hopefully raise some money to buy paint and oils and donate the rest to charity.

If you would like a commission you can always ask! I don’t promise anything but it is always nice to talk wood with people.

Leatherwork – is a skill I have returned to after a long absence and I have been amazed at the variety of leathers and threads that are available. Both colours and finishes allow the imagination to fly. There are so many ideas out there on social media that it allows you to create items with relative ease. Watch this space!
