Just finished these two scoops and put them in my shop. They are hand carved from seasoned walnut which was part of a tree that grew in our garden some years ago. One of them had a knot which dropped out so I plugged it with a piece of Padauk – a tropical hard wood. Andrew found an old railway sleeper in his wood and gave me some pieces. It is this lovely rich red hardwood. I have photographed them next to my favourite old Moka pot.
